Pastoral Care

In a sense we are all pastoral care givers, but there is a core group of individuals at St. Christopher's who devote considerable attention to this ministry. Is there a ministry for you?

Prayers and Pastoral Care for the Very Ill and the Dying

Please contact us if you or a loved one is very ill. We want to help. One of our clergy will provide pastoral care. Our clergy will be pleased to make a visit to your home, a hospital, or nursing care facility. For those who desire it, our priest  will offer the sacraments of the church including holy unction, private confession, and last rites.

To request a pastoral visit, contact the church office, 317-846-8716.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEV)

Holy Communion, Eucharist
Lay Eucharistic Visitors take the Eucharist to those who cannot be at church due to illness or inability to leave home. They provide a wonderful, tangible symbol, not only of God’s love, sacrifice and presence with us, but also of the person’s connection to the community even though they couldn’t be at the service.  If this ministry is of interest to you, contact the Rev. Cara Spaccarelli, Rector: 317-846-8716, x12 or email the church office.

Parish Nurse

The Parish Nurse is a resource person. She does not provide medical treatment. She can, however, assess safety measures and the current situation with each person she visits and make suggestions, such as making medical appointments with appropriate medical care providers. She can review medications, recommend nursing homes or troubleshoot problems with equipment.

If you or a family member would like more information about the Parish Nurse Mnistry, please contact the church office.

Knitting and Crocheting Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry
This ministry provides knitted or crocheted shawls to parishioners, their families, and friends. A personal prayer card is attached to each shawl offering tender loving care to those going through a difficult time.

If you would like more information about this ministry, please contact the church office.
