Frequently Asked Questions
When are worship services?
Sundays at 7:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Learn more about these services here.
Is childcare provided during services?
We have found that most of our families prefer to keep their children with them in the church service. Out nursery rooms are open and parents are welcome to go there if their children become restless.
Is the church open for prayer during the week?
Yes. The church building is open during our scheduled business hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will find the office in the Education and Administration Building to the right of the main entrance on the east side of the buildings.
Do St. Christopher's clergy and staff offer times for meetings with individuals?
The best way to ensure that one of our clergy or staff members is available to meet with you is to contact the church office at 317-846-8716 or the individual clergy or staff member to schedule an appointment. (Select Option 1 for staff and follow the prompts to reach members of our clergy and staff.) You may also email clergy and staff by selecting the individual on the Clergy and Staff page.
How do I request a visit from one of the clergy for myself or a family member?
Pastoral visits are an important part of St. Christopher's ministry. Our clergy are glad to call on parishioners to offer support and prayer in a variety of situations. These may include illness, surgery, childbirth, and the death of a family member. Visits can be made to hospitals or to the homebound. To request a pastoral visit, contact the church office at 317-846-8716, x11. If you know that you are going into the hospital, please call or email the church office or specific clergy to let them know. If your situation is not of an emergency nature, you may also email clergy by selecting the individual staff member on the Clergy and Staff page.
How do I request prayer for myself or someone else?
We welcome the opportunity to pray for you and for those you name. You may request prayer through direct contact with the church office at 317-846-8716, x11 or by email. We ask that you keep us updated so that we may either keep the request on our active prayer list or remove it as appropriate.
Whom should I contact if I am faced with the death of a family member?
Please contact the church office at 317-846-8716, x11. A member of our clergy will contact you as soon as possible to offer support, prayers, and assistance.
How do I become a member of St. Christopher's?
If you are new to the Episcopal Church, we encourage you to worship with us. If it feels right for you, please speak with the Rector or Associate Rector who can answer any questions you may have. If you are an Episcopalian transferring from another church, please contact the church office to request a membership transfer form from our Parish Administrator by calling the church office at 317-843-8716, x11, or via email.
How can I identify St. Christopher's ministries that would be of interest to me?
There are many ways to be involved in and connect with the St. Christopher's community. You may find it helpful to actively participate in worship, formation (Christian Education), leadership, or mission work as a way to become acquainted with the opportunities. You also may find it helpful to visit the Get Involved section of this website.
Can St. Christopher's help me identify volunteer opportunities?
Yes! Our Service to Others (S2O) ministries are always in need of individuals who wish to use their time and talent to help those in need in within the church and in the wider community. Joining others with similar interests in ministry and outreach projects can be a great way to meet and connect with the St. Christopher's community. You need not be a member to volunteer. Learn more by visiting the Get Involved section of this website.
How do I request baptism for my child or myself?
The Sacrament of Baptism is the rite of initiation into the Christian faith. The service of Holy Baptism takes place at the either the 7:45 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. service several times a year except during Lent. Preparation classes are required in advance of baptism. If you are seeking baptism for yourself or your child, please contact the church office by telephone at 317-846-8716, ext. 11, or email.
Whom do I contact if I want to be married at St. Christopher's?
