Confirmation
Through the sacramental rite of Confirmation, we make a mature public commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit and the laying on of hands by a Bishop. If baptized as a child, it is the time when one takes the promises made on their behalf as their own. If confirmed in another Christian denomination, one is received into the Episcopal Church by a Bishop and officially becomes an Episcopalian.
Confirmation and Reception classes are offered each year. In the 2022-2023 program year, confirmation classes will be offered in two forms- weekly Sunday class in Lent and four Saturday morning Episcopal Dips. The Sunday class in Lent will occur from 11:15 a.m. to noon from February 26 to March 26. The adults and youth confirmands will meet together for the class, and the youth will stay after for lunch and discussion. The youth will also have additional components. The other option is to attend our quarterly Episcopal Dips on Saturday morning. Programming for children and/or childcare is offered for both options. A date for Confirmation depends on the Bishop's schedule and will be announced well in advance. Adults who are interested may contact the Rev. Chana Tetzlaff by email. |
