Confirmation
Through the sacramental rite of Confirmation, we make a mature public commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit and the laying on of hands by a Bishop. If baptized as a child, it is the time when one takes the promises made on their behalf as their own. If confirmed in another Christian denomination, one is received into the Episcopal Church by a Bishop and officially becomes an Episcopalian.
Confirmation and Reception classes are typically offered every other year based on the Bishop's Visitation schedule. In the winter of 2021, the youth had a 10 week confirmation class and the Rev. Chana Tetzlaff plans to hold adult classes this spring. Confirmation will be celebrated at St. Christopher's as part of the Bishop's Visitation. The date for 2022 had not yet been announced. Adults who are interested may contact the Rev. Chana Tetzlaff by email. |
