Christmas Services 2022You are welcome at any and all services. Since each service is distinct, below are descriptions to help determine which will be best for you and your family.
Christmas Eve, 11 am – Songs and Story Service for Young Families This casual service of carols and the Christmas story is primarily geared towards young children. There will be a pick-up pageant as part of the service. Coming 10 minutes ahead of the service will help your child get their costume situated. Due to the winter storm and the dangerously low temperatures forecast for Christmas Eve, the petting zoo has been canceled for the safety of the animals. Last year we launched this service and, it was much appreciated by parents of young children whose excitement on Christmas Eve night can make getting out of the house and sitting through a service a challenge. The service will be approximately 30 minutes. This is also a great activity to bring young relatives to while the adults in the house take care of last minute Christmas preparations. Christmas Eve, 4pm – Family Service with Pageant, Carols, and Communion This service incorporates more traditional elements yet still adapted for a child-friendly audience. There will be a pageant from the pews (people can participate without standing up in front), carols, communion, and candlelit singing of Silent Night at the end (with glow sticks available for our smallest participants). This service will be approximately 60 minutes. Christmas Eve, 8pm – Traditional Service with Communion, Choir, and Brass This service is typically our largest and most traditional. The choir and brass provide strong musical support to our worship. A sermon points us towards the miracle of the incarnation. We share communion together and end with a candlelit singing of Silent Night. The service will be approximately 75 to 90 minutes. If you are unable to attend in person, this service will be livestreamed on our Worship Page. Click here to access the livestream. December 25, 9am - Contemplative Service with Communion This quiet morning service is a beautiful way to begin Christmas. We have music, but only sing the first verse of most carols as it is a lightly attended service. We share communion and wish one another a Merry Christmas. Families worship together on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so there will be no childcare or children's programming during the services. |
