Kids' SPIN is our name for a rotation curriculum by LeaderResources, which explores various stories and concepts in depth through a 4- to 6-week cycle of workshops. The rotation-style model means that children work on the same story or concept for several weeks, using different learning approaches each week. The name SPIN illustrates the intended purpose of this curriculum: Through study, and by use of a rotation method and practice of teaching children (pedagogy), we provide a deeper investigation of subjects in a nurturing atmosphere and environment.
Children begin worship in church at the 10:00 am service with their families and are led to classrooms after the Collect, returning to the pews at the Peace.
The children currently are divided into two age groups:
Worship bags are available at the rear of the sanctuary for children who choose to remain in church during the service. White bags are for younger children and blue bags for older.
Live audio of the service can also be heard in the Andres Library if a child or adult needs a break from the service.
Other Formation Opportunities for Children
Special events are offered throughout the year for all children, and include an Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Blessing of the Backpacks, and a St. Nicholas Celebration.
