My wife Barb and I have been at St. Christopher’s since 1995 when my career with the American Red Cross brought us to the area. I retired on October 30 after 20 years as the CEO for the Red Cross in Indiana and a total of 40 years with the American Red Cross. Prior positions with the Red Cross took us from Columbus, Ohio to Macon, Georgia, and back to the Buckeye State with a stint in Toledo before coming to Indianapolis.
Throughout those years we were members at Broadway United Methodist (Columbus), Mulberry Street United Methodist (Macon), and St. Timothy’s Episcopal (Toledo/Perrysburg). I served on the Council of Ministries and the Administrative Board in Columbus and Macon. I was a member of the Vestry in Toledo including terms as Junior and Senior Warden. I also initiated a planning process leading to an improvement and expansion project at St. Timothy’s along with the capital campaign. Since coming to St. Christopher’s, I have served on the Vestry (2001-03). During that same period I chaired the annual Stewardship Campaign.
Both my professional and church-related leadership experiences have helped me develop expertise in planning, budgeting, and change management, all of which can be of value to our growing parish. Barb and I have been married a little over 40 years. We enjoy our adult children (son James and daughter Jenni) and a grandchild (Cyrus James) who live in California.
